01. he asks her out
We met back in 2013 at Bethel University, a small private Christian university where we both ran track and field. Halle was a distance runner, and Luke was a sprinter. Luke wanted to ask Halle out and so one day he said "can I be frank?" and Halle's response was... “Who’s frank?”
02. so... it's official
After going on a few dates, Luke wanted to make it official - so one day he told her he liked her and wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Halle said she likes him too, so Luke put out his hand and he said "it's official" So we shook on it
03. hobby to side hustle
We loved photography, it was a hobby we loved doing together. Slowly it went from a hobby, to a side hustle and we began documenting friends' weddings and so back in 2016, before we were engaged.... Lulle Photo was born
04. the breakup proposal
After multiple years of dating, it was time for Luke to pop the question. This is a long story, but long story short he was so nervous and started crying. Halle couldn't understand what he was saying and thought he was breaking up with her.... He proposed instead
05. our wedding
We had a simple wedding and it was the best day of our lives. When they announced us husband and wife, we shook on it - of course - before the kiss. To this day one of our biggest regrets was not hiring a videographer - which is part of the reason we decided to add videography. And so… we became Lulle Photo & Film
We believe in creating an experience that's as memorable as the day itself.
Our approach is relaxed yet intentional, fun yet professional. We focus more on prompts to make the experience fun, rather than simply poses. Ultimately, we make the process fun, laid-back, memorable, and you’ll walk away with documented memories that feel like you.

My husband and I hired Lulle Photography for our wedding and we could not be more pleased with our experience. Luke and Halle are the absolute sweetest couple and made us feel comfortable and confident in our choice immediately. They had us think through all of the right things to make the wedding day as least stressful as it could be. My husband, who really cannot stand taking pictures, was very at ease with the two of them and managed to make it the whole day without any complaints. Our pictures are stunning. I have received so many compliments. There is not one picture that I don’t like. They made us look our best, and captured our day in the dreamiest way possible. We could not recommend them more. Don’t question anything. Just hire them. They will make your wedding day truly the most special day.

We’ve worked with Lulle so many times now - for engagement photos, Christmas photos, wedding photography, a Colorado mountain session, in friends’ weddings - and every time they have gone above and beyond our expectations. They are so good at what they do and always bring their ideas and fun energy to sessions, which is a huge help to awkward “posers” like myself and my husband. They are also just so much fun to be around and we really consider them friends now! Even though we now live in Colorado, Lulle will always be our first choice for photos going forward. because that's something we didn't have
We got married young and didn’t know what we wanted or didn’t want for our wedding. Our gallery was filled with mostly posed photos instead of candids or photos laughing or hanging out with our guests. While the photos are beautiful, all we remember was it being one long photoshoot, and we ended up missing out on our wedding.
With a little more planning ahead, we easily could have the perfect balance of beautiful portraits of us, as well as spending time with all our guests. So, take it from us - the day will come and go faster than you can keep up with. Work with a team who prioritizes your experience and allows you to actually take it all in - you’ll be so glad you did.

When I was 12, I wrote about how I wanted a camera for Christmas. I said, “I would bring it to a lot of places because you never know when you want to capture the moment and remember it forever." Little did I know it would become my career and completely change my life.
I've always been a nostalgic person and viewed life as a gift. I'm the daughter who wasn't supposed to exist after my dad's battle with cancer, but here I am. Each day feels like a miracle, and tomorrow is never guaranteed.

I grew up in South Minneapolis and love our life in Minnesota. I find deep joy when going on adventures with Halle - whether going camping, a local bike ride, losing to Halle in another triathlon, or traveling across the country in our prius. I love exploring new places and making new memories.
After filming our first wedding, I knew I was hooked. It was so meaningful and fun to capture how the day looked AND how it felt – the laughter, the tears, the spontaneous moments of joy. I knew I was going to be doing this for a long time!

Losing friends too young taught me the importance of capturing life's precious moments. When loved ones are gone, all we have left are memories - kept alive through photos and videos. I often tear up behind the camera, knowing I'm preserving irreplaceable memories that will tell your story for generations.
My job goes beyond taking beautiful photos - it's about serving couples so well that they can't imagine their day being any better. I'm notorious for overshooting, catching those little details and in-between moments. Every couple's story is unique and deserves to be told authentically. I'm here to create a visual legacy of your love that you'll cherish for years to come.

Since there is so much emotion and experience captured during your wedding day, I earnestly care about representing you and your day in the most accurate and meaningful way I can. It's not just about recording events - it's about crafting a story that truly represents you and your love and the fun you have. I believe that your wedding film should be more than just a highlight reel – it should be a time capsule of emotions, a way to transport you back to one of the most important events of your life.
When I'm not behind the camera, you'll probably find me working on our latest home renovation project, hitting some local bike trails (potentially with a pit stop at a brewery), or dreaming up the next adventure with Halle and our pup Sophie. But honestly? It's truly a rush and an honor to make new friends with you and tell your story.
Your relationship is just the beginning of a much bigger story, one that matters and deserves to be told. We take the time to get to know you, going in depth with how we tell your story. We want to experience the things that are meaningful to you, and make it an experience that you enjoy and has meaning for you.

We’re not the type of team who will pull you away causing you to miss it all. We believe your wedding day isn't a photo shoot or a film production. It's a celebration of your love and the life you're building together. Our goal is to create beautiful, candid images and films while ensuring you're fully present.
No one wants one of those cookie cutter wedding films or a gallery filled with awkward, overly-posed photos - and you’re not going to find that here. When you look back on your wedding day, you’re going to remember how you felt in those photos and we want to craft a day that allows you to actually enjoy and live in the moment. Those candid, unplanned moments are the ones that you’ll want to have most, and you deserve to have those.
The memories we capture aren’t just for you to relive—it’s about making sure your story is still being told, long after you’re gone. Your kids, grandkids, and beyond will know where they come from because of the love and moments we help preserve. And one day your great great grandkids, who you might not ever get to meet, will know your story. They’ll be the ones smiling, laughing and crying as they flip through your album and watch the wedding film of those they never got to meet.

destination and travel weddings
We have had the honor of being able to travel and document couples weddings all over the United States. Some of the places we've been (beyond our home state of Minnesota) include California, Arizona, Utah, New York, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and more.
Most winters, we pack up our Prius and spend a couple months traveling the country living on the road. This is the perfect opportunity to hire us for your wedding or elopement while we are already on the road! That said, we are always up for travel, connect with us to see how we can serve you!

I am passionate about elevating the photography industry and empowering other creatives to follow their passion for wedding photography. Before going full-time as a wedding photographer, I spent years climbing the corporate ladder, and even went on to get my MBA. After years in the business world, I was feeling apathetic towards my career. Then one day, God made it clear to me that it was time to stop wasting time on a job I wasn’t passionate about and to go all in with wedding photography.
I launched “Take Your Shot Collective” to give new and growing photographers a community and resource library to create a career out of their passion. I host a weekly podcast, annual retreats, and am so passionate about elevating the wedding photography industry through using my background in Journalism and my MBA.
