Betty and Adam had their engagement session on the North Shore in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The first location we started at was Palisade Head, a stunning cliffside overlooking lake superior. After hiking around at Palisade head, we then went to black sand beach for sunset. We had a fun time running around in the water and just spending time connecting.

The beauty of doing engagement photos at Palisade Head and Black Sand Beach is that they are both so close to one another and easy to access. With less than 10 minutes to drive between the two, it’s the perfect combination. For someone who wants a wide variety of nature and landscapes you one cannot go wrong with either location. We recommend ensuring you time out your session right if you want to do both Black Sand Beach and Palisade Head.

Remember to leave no trace and to respect other hikers on the the trails. Because it is a very popular photo spot in Northern Minnesota, you will likely have to wait and work around other people. For other similar locations to Black sand beach and Palisade head, you can also try going to Tettegouche state park.

Betty and Adam are the sweetest couple. They chose to do their engagement photos at Palisade Head and Black Sand beach in the Fall which is the perfect time of year to catch colors. The trees were vibrant, the weather was perfect, and although Lake Superior was cold, it was really pretty.
