This wedding at The Grainary at Lake Valley Farm in Poplar, Wisconsin was definitely one for the books! Each year I usually end up photographing a few weddings on my own and this one was one of them. It was such an honor to be a part of this day and per usual, I was definitely crying behind the camera multiple times. The first look with the bridesmaids was definitely one of those moments. Overall, despite the heat wave that we all had to navigate, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. The only thing that was a bummer was the fact that the maid of honor (who flew into town from California) ended up catching COVID and had to quarantine in her hotel instead of attend the wedding. It was a really hard thing to go through, but holy smokes even though she wasn’t there, she still delivered the most killer speech! She pre-recorded it and sent it to the DJ ahead of time and so while her speech was playing on the speakers, the bride and groom got to facetime her. It had me in tears the whole time, it was so beautiful and difficult all at the same time. A moment that truly no words can fully describe.

The day was filled with amazing food, people, vendors and the most stunning couple. The Grainary at Lake Valley Farm is a very new wedding venue and holy smokes, it is a stunning place for a rustic-modern farm wedding! Every corner of the venue is something different and unique. The bridal suite was a literal dream, the rustic barn with the greenery chandeliers were so classy, and the reception space was a solid mix of modern and farmhouse.
